Aquestes unitats proporcionen serveis d’atenció, informació, assessorament, orientació… a estudiants refugiats que volen iniciar o reprendre la seva trajectòria acadèmica i formativa.
Una delegació de la Universitat de Barcelona participa, aquesta setmana, en l’avaluació dels primers mesos de funcionament de les oficines de suport a estudiants refugiats (R-SOS units) que s’han creat al Kurdistan iraquià en el marc del projecte europeu de cooperació RESCUE (Refugees Education Support in MENA countries); concretament, a la Universitat de Duhok i la Universitat Politècnica de Duhok.
El projecte RESCUE, de què la UB és sòcia, pretén millorar l’accés de les persones desplaçades i refugiades a les universitats de l’Orient Mitjà i el Nord d’Àfrica mitjançant la creació i gestió de les Refugee Student Operational Support Units (R-SOS units).
Les R-SOS units són oficines de suport ad hoc que proporcionen serveis d’atenció, informació, assessorament, orientació… a estudiants refugiats, desplaçats interns i també locals que volen iniciar o reprendre la seva trajectòria acadèmica i formativa a les universitats sòcies del projecte, tant al Kurdistan iraquià com també a Jordània i el Líban.
En el marc de la seva visita al Kurdistan iraquià, la delegació de la Universitat de Barcelona ha intervingut en sessions de treball, de caràcter avaluador, amb membres dels equips de les R-SOS units.
The University of Barcelona participates in the evaluation of the RESCUE R-SOS units in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
These units provide services of attention, information, advice, guidance… to refugee students who want to start or resume their academic and training career.
A delegation from the University of Barcelona participates this week in the evaluation of the first months of operation of the Refugee Student Operational Support Units (R-SOS units) that were created in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq within the framework of the European cooperation project RESCUE (Refugees Education Support in MENA countries); specifically, at the University of Duhok and the Duhok Polytechnic University.
The RESCUE project, of which the UB is a partner, aims to improve the access of displaced people and refugees to universities in the Middle East and North Africa through the creation and management of the R-SOS units.
The R-SOS units are ad hoc support offices that provide services of attention, information, advice, guidance… to refugee students, internally displaced students and also local people who want to start or resume their academic and training career at the partner universities of the project, both in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as well as in Jordan and Lebanon.
In the framework of its visit to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the delegation of the University of Barcelona has taken part in evaluative work sessions with the R-SOS units staff members.
